Abia Warriors Aim to Bounce Back Against Bendel Insurance

Abia Warriors will look to end their two-game winless streak when they host Bendel Insurance at the Umuahia Township Stadium on Sunday in a Matchday 14 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) fixture. The Umuahia side, once briefly atop the league table, have dropped five points in their last two outings—a draw against Enyimba at home followed by a surprising defeat to Bayelsa United—which has pushed them down from the top three and tightened the title race.

Despite recent setbacks, the Warriors remain determined to recover lost ground, with coach Umu Chineke urging his squad to maintain their hunger for success. However, the challenge will not be straightforward, as Bendel Insurance, guided by former Abia Warriors manager Kennedy Boboye, are coming off a home victory over Kano Pillars and are eager to climb up the table.
