The Pride of Abia will travel to Enugu with a belief mentality ahead of their oriental derby against league leaders, Rangers International Football Club of Enugu, in a Matchday 30 encounter of the Nigeria Premier Football League, says the management.

The Abia Warriors are looking to consolidate their home win over Plateau United FC of Jos.

The captain of the side, Augustine Njoku, is optimistic that Abia Warriors will get a positive result against the former Nigerian champions when both sides clash on Tuesday, 16th April 2024.

Head Coach of Abia Warriors FC, Coach Bethel Oji, on his part, is not paying much attention to the interest the encounter has generated amongst NPFL followers but sees it as a normal game the Warriors will approach with vigour and determination.

Abia Warriors' Daniel Ijeh is the only injury concern at the moment as he did not make the trip to Enugu, while Daniel Wotlai made a quick recovery from the injury he sustained during the home match against Plateau United.

Warriors' young goalkeeper, Ali Ishaku, is back in the fold after recovering from an eye injury.

Also, captain Augustine Njoku has made a sensational return to the squad after missing the Abia FA Cup semi-final and final matches, as well as the NPFL match against Plateau United due to injury.

Abia Warriors' star striker, Samson Obi, has dedicated his goal against Plateau United to his baby girl. Obi and his wife welcomed a baby girl recently.
