2026 President Federation Cup: Semi-final showdown as four women’s teams chase final tickets

Posted : 24 June 2026

The race for the 2026 President Federation Cup title enters a decisive stage on Wednesday as four women's teams battle for places in the final of Nigeria's oldest domestic football competition.

The semi-final fixtures, scheduled to kick off simultaneously at 4 p.m., will be played in Benin City and Enugu, according to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

At the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City, FC Robo Queens of Lagos will take on Heartland Queens of Owerri in a clash between two sides that have impressed throughout the tournament.

FC Robo Queens head into the encounter in high spirits after producing one of the competition's biggest surprises by eliminating former champions Rivers Angels in the quarter-finals.

The Lagos club had earlier knocked out Rangers Women of Enugu and Remo Stars Ladies to book a place in the last four.

Heartland Queens have also enjoyed a strong campaign, recording victories over Dragon Fury Ladies, Ahudiyannem Queens and Ibom Angels to reach the semi-finals.

Meanwhile, the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in Enugu will host the second semi-final between Sunshine Queens of Akure and multiple-time champions Nasarawa Amazons of Lafia.

Nasarawa Amazons advanced after defeating Osklean FC before surviving penalty shootout victories over Naija Ratels FC and Edo Queens in the Round of 16 and quarter-finals respectively.

Sunshine Queens have equally enjoyed an impressive run, overcoming Solo Wonders in the Round of 32, Plateau United Queens in the Round of 16 and Confluence Queens in the quarter-finals.

The winners of Wednesday's matches will qualify for the final billed for July 11 in Asaba, where the 2026 President Federation Cup women's champions will be crowned.

Semi-final Fixtures (4 p.m.):

  • FC Robo Queens vs Heartland Queens – Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City.

  • Sunshine Queens vs Nasarawa Amazons – Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu.

These highly anticipated matchups highlight the growing competitiveness and depth within Nigerian women's domestic football. With prestigious final tickets on the line, fans can expect intense tactical battles and high-stakes drama across both neutral venues. The stage is set for a historic afternoon that will determine which two clubs earn the right to play for the ultimate domestic crown in Asaba.
