El-Kanemi Warriors FC have stepped up preparations for their 2026 President Federation Cup final showdown against Ikorodu City FC, with the Maiduguri-based side determined to secure silverware and a return to continental football.

The Zulum Boys, under the guidance of Coach Kabiru Dogo, have intensified training ahead of the crucial encounter, knowing that victory will earn them a place in next season's CAF Confederation Cup.

Having previously represented Nigeria in the 2024 CAF Confederation Cup, El-Kanemi Warriors are eager to book another appearance on the continental stage despite their relegation from the Nigeria Premier Football League.

"On our part, we are doing everything possible to ensure that all preparations go smoothly without any obstacles. By the grace of Allah, El-Kanemi Warriors FC will bounce back stronger.

Our impressive run in the President Federation Cup has shown everyone that our relegation from the Nigeria Premier Football League was not due to a lack of quality. We believe it was Allah's will, and we accept His decree.

"I also appeal to all our supporters to continue praying for the success of El-Kanemi Warriors FC. You witnessed the power of prayers during our match against Bendel Insurance FC.

"We were trailing 3-0 at halftime, but with determination and Allah's help, everything changed. We remain confident and hopeful as we head into the final. In Sha Allah, victory will be ours."

El-Kanemi Warriors will be aiming to cap their impressive cup run by lifting the President Federation Cup and sealing a return to the CAF Confederation Cup with victory over Ikorodu City FC.
