2026 NLO: Relentless Best Talent FC underline dominance with commanding double victory

Posted : 03 May 2026

Best Talent FC of Mowe are fast emerging as one of the most formidable sides in the 2026 Nationwide League One (NLO) campaign, following an impressive double triumph that further underlines their growing reputation for consistency, discipline, and attacking flair.

In what proved to be a defining Saturday, May 2, the Ogun-based outfit showcased both resilience and ruthlessness across two fronts.

A narrow but hard-fought 1-0 victory over Bajulaye FC in the Redemption City Tournament set the tone, before a more assertive 2-0 win against Patriot FC in the NLO clash capped a perfect outing.

Rather than merely chasing results, Best Talent demonstrated a clear identity: structured defending, intelligent transitions, and clinical finishing.

The split-squad approach, necessitated by fixture congestion, revealed the team’s depth, with even the younger, largely U-18 contingent stepping up confidently.

At the Legacy Pitch, composure was key as they edged Bajulaye FC, with Femi’s decisive strike proving the difference in a tightly contested encounter.

Hours later at the MKO Abiola Stadium, Kuto, Abeokuta, the attacking gears shifted. Abdullahi’s brace ensured a comfortable win over a well-drilled Patriot FC side, extending the club’s impressive goal-scoring run.

The numbers tell a compelling story—11 goals scored in their last three league matches without conceding, alongside clean sheets in both competitions. Such statistics reflect not just attacking efficiency, but a defensive solidity that has become a hallmark of the team.

This latest performance also echoes their earlier statement win in December 2025, when they dismantled Browl FA 6-0, a match that hinted at the attacking potential now being consistently realized.

Head coach Farouk Yusuf, clearly pleased yet measured in his assessment, praised his players’ mentality and discipline, particularly given the logistical challenge of competing simultaneously in two fixtures.

"The boys showed character and focus. It’s not easy managing two games in one day, especially with a young squad, but they delivered. We remain humble; there’s still a long way to go," he noted.

Beyond the results, what stands out is Best Talent FC’s evolving maturity. Their ability to adapt tactically, maintain intensity, and deliver under pressure suggests a team not just chasing short-term success, but building toward sustained excellence.

With momentum firmly on their side and confidence growing within the squad, Best Talent FC are not just winning; they are sending a strong message to the rest of the league: they are ready for the long haul.

The Mowe-based side continues to set a high standard through tactical discipline and a commitment to nurturing young prospects. As the NLO season progresses, their ability to maintain this level of consistency will be the ultimate test of their championship aspirations. Their recent double victory serves as a powerful reminder of their intent to remain a dominant force in Nigerian grassroots football.
