2026 NLO: La Planet FC tighten grip on Ilorin centre after narrow win over NA Royal

La Planet FC continued their impressive run in the 2026 Nationwide League One (NLO) season after edging past NA Royal FC 1-0 on Monday at the Ilorin Centre.

A 77th-minute penalty converted by team captain Majeed Saka Morrow proved decisive in the closely contested encounter played at the Rashidi Yekini Main Bowl, Ilorin.

The hard-fought victory ensured that La Planet FC remained unbeaten in Group A, strengthening their hold on the top spot with 13 points from five matches.

Under the guidance of Coach Sheriff Jimoh, the team has recorded four wins and one draw, emerging as one of the standout sides at the centre.

Reacting after the match, Coach Jimoh praised his players for their determination and discipline throughout the game.

“It was a very important victory for us. The players showed great character and composure against a strong opponent,” he said.

According to the coach, the result has further boosted the team’s chances of progressing from the group stage.

La Planet FC will next take on Dohz FA before concluding their group fixtures against Gaa Akanbi FC.

The vital win positions the Ilorin-based team as strong favorites to progress into the next stage of the competition.
