2026 NLO Friendlies: Best Talent FC Held to a Draw by Box 2 Box FC in Lagos Test Game

Best Talent Football Club of Mowe were held to a 2-2 draw by Lagos-based Box 2 Box FC in an entertaining pre-season friendly at the Legacy Pitch, National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos, as both sides fine-tuned preparations for the 2026 Nigeria Nationwide League One (NLO) season.

The encounter lived up to expectations, with both teams delivering a competitive and high-tempo performance. It was a closely fought contest, reflecting the intensity and unpredictability often associated with fixtures of this nature.

Best Talent, led by Coach Farouk Yusuf, continued their impressive pre-season form, with goals from Mathew and Jamiu ensuring they secured a share of the spoils. The visitors showed resilience and attacking intent throughout the match, keeping their hosts under constant pressure.

Despite a largely dominant display, the team managed by Adeyinka Adeyemo could not convert their superiority into a winning goal. However, the technical crew remained positive, using the fixture to identify areas requiring improvement ahead of the new season.

Speaking after the match, Coach Farouk Yusuf expressed satisfaction with his team's performance, while maintaining his ambition for excellence.

"We approach every game with the mindset to win and secure maximum points. Although we came here aiming for victory, our opponents proved very solid. Overall, we are satisfied with the result and the lessons learned as we prepare for the season," he said.

Both teams will now shift focus to their final phase of preparations as anticipation builds for the kickoff of the 2026 NLO campaign.
