2026 NLO: Best Talent FC maintain strong run with convincing win over M&N FC

Posted : 17 May 2026

Best Talent FC of Mowe continued their impressive form in the 2026 Nationwide League One (NLO) campaign with a commanding 2-0 victory over M&N FC at the MKO Abiola Stadium, Kuto, Abeokuta, on Saturday.

The encounter began on a cautious note as both sides struggled to break each other down in a tightly contested first half that ended goalless. Despite creating a few promising openings, neither team could find the breakthrough before the interval.

However, the game changed after the restart as Best Talent FC returned with greater urgency and attacking intent. Their persistence paid off in the 51st minute when Mathew opened the scoring to give the Mowe-based side the advantage.

The forward later doubled the lead in the 71st minute, completing his brace and sealing an important victory for the “Integrity side” as they continue their push for dominance in the league campaign.

Speaking after the match, head coach Farouk praised his players for their reaction following their earlier setback in the season, but stressed that the team still has areas to improve if they hope to achieve their ambitions.

“We need to do more if we truly want to reach our target,” Farouk said during his post-match interview. “The boys responded positively today, and I’m happy with the result, but this is only part of what we are building.”

The experienced tactician, known for his previous roles with Magate FC, Fackson Tofido, and Coca-Cola Junior School, has guided Best Talent FC to an unbeaten run so far this season, recording three wins and one draw.

Farouk’s tactical discipline and attacking approach have become evident in the team’s performances, with the coach also commending the club’s management and backroom staff for their support throughout the campaign.

In another positive development for the club, Best Talent FC also secured qualification for the quarter-finals of the Redemption City Cup after receiving a 3-0 walkover against Harmony F.A., who failed to honor their fixture.

With momentum building in both league and cup competitions, Best Talent FC fans will be optimistic that the team can sustain their strong form as the season progresses across the South-West football scene in Nigeria.

The impressive victory over M&N FC further solidifies the team's standing as strong contenders in the competition this season. By blending tactical discipline with clinical finishing, the squad continues to demonstrate the growth envisioned by the coaching staff. Maintaining this high standard of performance will be crucial as they navigate the demanding schedule of the regional football campaign.
