Ikorodu City were unable to convert their attacking dominance into victory as they were held to a goalless draw by Sporting Lagos in a tense Lagos derby at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan.
The rescheduled Matchday 2 encounter produced plenty of intensity but no goals, with both sides settling for a point after failing to find the decisive breakthrough.
Ikorodu City created the clearer opportunities, recording 15 attempts with six on target, while Sporting Lagos managed six shots, including three efforts on target.
Sporting Lagos, however, enjoyed a marginal advantage in possession, controlling 51 per cent of the ball compared with Ikorodu City’s 49 per cent.
Despite the contrasting statistics, neither side could translate its attacking efforts into a goal as the first half ended scoreless.
The pattern continued after the interval, with both defences holding firm to preserve the deadlock until the final whistle.
The result leaves Ikorodu City seventh on the table with nine points from six matches, while Sporting Lagos occupy 12th position with eight points from the same number of games.
The shared points keep both Lagos clubs within touching distance of the upper half of the standings as the 2026/27 NPFL campaign gathers momentum.
