2026/2027 EuroMatch NPFL Match Day 9: Warri Wolves Bank on Orukpe for Enyimba Test

Posted : 18 October 2026

Warri Wolves will count on captain Innocent Orukpe’s return to strengthen their defence when they visit Enyimba InEuroMatch Nigeria Premier Football League ternational FC in Sunday’s Matchday 9 fixture of the 2026/2027 (NPFL).

Orukpe’s return after several weeks out with injury comes at a crucial time for the Seasiders, who are seeking to sustain their recent improvement against one of the league’s established sides.

Warri Wolves have recorded three victories, one draw and two defeats in their last six matches, a run that has raised expectations ahead of their trip to the Enyimba International Stadium, Aba.

The captain’s availability is expected to provide additional leadership and defensive stability as the Delta-based side prepare for a demanding encounter against the former league champions.

Technical Adviser Hassan Abdallah has expressed confidence in his players’ ability to secure a positive result, insisting that his team will approach the fixture with discipline and belief.

“We respect our opponents, but we are going into the game with belief in our ability,” Abdallah said.

“The players understand what is required of them, and our focus is on putting in a good performance and getting a positive result.

“We will approach the match with the right mentality and give our best,” he added.

Warri Wolves will need to maintain defensive concentration and take advantage of their scoring opportunities if they are to leave Aba with points.

Orukpe’s return offers a timely boost, but the Seasiders must combine his experience with collective discipline to withstand the hosts’ challenge.

With both sides seeking valuable points as the league campaign progresses, Sunday’s encounter presents Warri Wolves with an opportunity to demonstrate their growing resilience and strengthen their position in the competition.
