2026/2027 Euromatch NPFL Match Day 8: Warri Wolves Sink Inter Lagos to Strengthen Survival Push

Posted : 12 October 2026

Warri Wolves have boosted their bid for stability in the 2026/2027 Euromatch Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) with a convincing 3-1 victory over Inter Lagos, leaving the Lagos-based side with more questions to answer after another disappointing outing.

The Seasiders capitalized on the encounter to collect three valuable points, moving to 13th place with 10 points from eight matches, while Inter Lagos remained entrenched in the lower reaches of the table.

For Warri Wolves, the result represented a timely boost as they seek to establish consistency and distance themselves from the relegation battle. Their three-goal haul demonstrated their ability to make the most of the opportunity, although the goal conceded showed that defensive improvements may still be necessary.

Inter Lagos, meanwhile, were left to reflect on another costly setback in a campaign that has offered little relief. The defeat further complicated their efforts to climb away from the bottom end of the standings and build the confidence needed to compete consistently.

The Lagos side will need a stronger defensive response and greater attacking efficiency if they are to reverse their fortunes in the coming fixtures. Their inability to secure a positive result against Warri Wolves underlined the challenge confronting the team as the season progresses.

The wider Match Day Eight results also highlighted the importance of collecting points early in the campaign.

Warri Wolves secured a result that could prove significant in their own season objectives.

With the league entering another round of fixtures, Warri Wolves will look to build on the momentum generated by the win, while Inter Lagos face increasing pressure to respond positively and prevent their difficult start from becoming a prolonged struggle.
