Enyimba will head into Sunday’s 2026/2027 Euromatch Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Matchday 7 encounter against Plateau United with renewed confidence following the return of several key players.
The Aba giants have been boosted by the return of versatile defender Joel Ezra and goalkeeper Utum Godswill, who have both resumed training after spells on the sidelines.
Ezra missed action after falling ill, having made 27 appearances for Enyimba during the previous season, while Godswill has recovered from an injury suffered three weeks ago.
Both players are now available for selection as Enyimba prepare to welcome Plateau United to the Enyimba International Stadium, Aba.
Striker Chidera Michael has also returned to the squad, providing coach Emmanuel Deutsch with additional options as the team seeks to build momentum.
Enyimba ended a difficult start to the campaign with a 4–2 victory over Shooting Stars in midweek, recording their first league win of the season.
The nine-time champions will now be aiming to turn that breakthrough result into consecutive victories against a Plateau United side expected to provide another stern test.
Enyimba currently occupy 19th position with four points from six matches and will be determined to climb the table with another positive result on home soil.
With key players returning and confidence lifted by their midweek victory, the People’s Elephant will be looking to make their Aba home advantage count against Plateau United.
