2026/2027 Euromatch NPFL Match Day 5: Plateau United Stage Comeback to Hold Doma United

Doma United were denied a return to winning ways as Plateau United fought back from two goals down to secure a 2-2 draw in their 2026/27 Euromatch Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Match Day 5 encounter at the Pantami Stadium.

The Desert Warriors looked set for a comfortable home victory after Michael Adegbite struck twice within a 12-minute spell to give the hosts a commanding advantage.

Adegbite's brace put Doma United in a strong position after the hosts had dominated the opening exchanges, but Plateau United refused to be overwhelmed by the deficit.

The visitors returned from the break with renewed purpose and began to put pressure on the home defence.

Their persistence paid off in the 58th minute when Gideon Monday pulled one back to give Plateau United a lifeline.

The visitors continued to push for an equaliser and completed their comeback in the 77th minute, with Paul Samson finding the net to restore parity.

Doma United were unable to reclaim their lead as Plateau United held on for a valuable point away from home.

The draw leaves the Desert Warriors still searching for a response after their emphatic 4-1 defeat to Kano Pillars in their previous outing, following a run of three successive victories.

For Plateau United, the result extends their unbeaten run to four matches since their opening-day defeat to Rivers United.

The Jos-based side have now recorded two victories and two draws during that unbeaten spell, continuing their steady recovery as the campaign progresses.

The outcome also denied Doma United the opportunity to immediately reassert themselves at the top of the standings, with both sides having to settle for a share of the points after contrasting second-half fortunes.
