2026/2027 Euromatch NPFL Match Day 4: Plateau United Overturn Shooting Stars Lead in Jos

Plateau United produced a stunning second-half turnaround to defeat Shooting Stars 3-1 in a Match Day 4 encounter of the 2026/2027 Euromatch Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) at the New Jos Stadium on Sunday.

The Oluyole Warriors appeared to be in control after taking an early lead, but the hosts responded emphatically after the interval to turn the contest on its head and claim maximum points.

Shooting Stars broke the deadlock in the 14th minute when Taheer found the net, giving the visitors a 1-0 advantage that they successfully protected until the half-time whistle.

The hosts returned from the break with renewed purpose and quickly began putting the Shooting Stars defence under pressure.

Their persistence paid off when Jubril Ibrahim restored parity, finishing a well-delivered layoff from Jonathan to bring Plateau United back into the contest.

With the momentum now firmly behind the hosts, Plateau United continued to press for the winning goal and completed their comeback in the 71st minute.

Seiyefa Jackson put the Jos-based side in front before Monday Gideon added a third goal in the 87th minute to put the outcome beyond doubt.

The victory completed a remarkable reversal for Plateau United, who had gone into the interval trailing but finished the game with three unanswered goals.

For Shooting Stars, the defeat highlighted their failure to protect a promising start as their early advantage ultimately yielded no points.

Plateau United will take confidence from the character displayed after conceding first, while Shooting Stars will be left to assess their second-half performance ahead of their next league assignment.
