2026/2027 Euromatch NPFL Match Day 4: Barau FC maintain unbeaten start with Ikorodu City draw

Barau FC maintained their unbeaten start to the 2026/27 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season after playing out a 0-0 draw with Ikorodu City at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Lagos, on Saturday.

The result saw the Maliya Boys extend their unbeaten run to four matches, with two wins and two draws, leaving them on eight points from their opening fixtures.

Barau, who defeated Nasarawa United 3-1 in their opening match, followed it with a 0-0 away draw against Kun Khalifa before recording a 3-1 home victory over Ranchers Bees.

Against Ikorodu City, the visitors produced another disciplined defensive performance to frustrate their hosts and secure a valuable point on the road.

The goalless draw also ended Ikorodu City's impressive run of scoring in 11 consecutive home matches, a streak that had lasted since December 2025.

Despite opportunities at both ends, neither side managed to find the breakthrough as Barau's defensive organisation stood firm throughout the encounter.

The result further underlined the Maliya Boys' strong start to the campaign, following an encouraging debut season in the NPFL last year.

Barau FC President, Shawall Barau Jibrin, was also present at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena to support the team.

His presence highlighted the club's leadership involvement as Barau continues its development both on and off the pitch.

With four matches played, Barau have recorded two victories and two draws and remained unbeaten as the NPFL season gathers momentum.
