Warri Wolves battled to a 1-1 draw against Plateau United in their 2026/2027 EuroMatch Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Matchday 11 encounter, securing a valuable away point despite their struggles on the league table.
The Seasiders showed attacking intent from the opening stages and took the lead in the 32nd minute when Emmanuel Aribogha found the net to reward their determined start.
The strike was Aribogha’s third goal of the season, further highlighting his contribution to Warri Wolves’ attacking efforts as they seek to improve their position in the league.
The visitors protected their advantage until half-time, but Plateau United returned with greater urgency after the break and equalised in the 60th minute to bring the contest back on level terms.
With both teams pushing for a winner, the encounter became increasingly competitive. Sani Ahmed received a yellow card in the 48th minute, while Edewor was booked in the 73rd minute as the contest intensified.
Neither side could find a decisive breakthrough in the closing stages, forcing them to settle for a share of the points.
POINTS DEDUCTION COMPLICATES WOLVES' CAMPAIGN
Despite the draw, Warri Wolves continue to contend with the consequences of the three-point and three-goal deduction imposed by the NPFL.
The disciplinary sanction has significantly affected the Seasiders' league position, pushing them from 14th to 17th place after their previous tally of 12 points was reduced by three.
The club is contesting the decision through an ongoing appeal as it seeks to improve its standing in the competition.
The draw in Jos nevertheless provides a measure of encouragement for the team as it prepares for another important fixture.
Warri Wolves will host Katsina United in their Matchday 12 encounter on Sunday, Nov. 8, at the Southern Delta University Stadium in Ozoro, hoping to build on their performance against Plateau United.
