2026/2027 EuroMatch NPFL Match Day 11: Shooting Stars Overpower Abia Warriors 4-1 in Ibadan

Shooting Stars delivered a commanding performance to defeat Abia Warriors 4-1 in their 2026/2027 EuroMatch Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Matchday 11 encounter at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Ibadan.

The Oluyole Warriors took control early, with Damilola Akinola opening the scoring in the fourth minute to set the tone for an impressive home display.

Shooting Stars maintained their attacking intensity, with Sodiq Ibrahim extending their lead in the 41st minute before completing his brace four minutes later.

The two quick goals left Abia Warriors facing a daunting 3-0 deficit at half-time, with the visitors struggling to contain their hosts' attacking threat.

Abia Warriors showed greater urgency after the restart and pulled a goal back in the 80th minute, briefly offering hope of a late comeback.

However, Issa Yusuf extinguished those hopes by scoring Shooting Stars' fourth goal in the 88th minute to seal a convincing victory.

The result underlined Shooting Stars' attacking strength, with Akinola, Ibrahim and Yusuf finding the net in a performance that yielded four goals for the Ibadan-based side.

For Abia Warriors, the heavy defeat will prompt a reassessment as they seek to recover from their disappointing outing and return to winning ways in the league.
