2026/2027 EuroMatch NPFL Match Day 11: Ogunbote Eyes Stronger Ties as Jos Host Warri Wolves

Posted : 01 November 2026

Plateau United coach Gbenga Ogunbote will be seeking an immediate response from his players when the Jos-based side host Warri Wolves in a Match Day 11 fixture of the 2026/2027 EuroMatch Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season.

The encounter presents Plateau United with an opportunity to revive their campaign after dropping points in their last two outings, while Warri Wolves will arrive hoping to extend their recent defensive solidity.

The Peace Boys were held to a 2-2 draw by Katsina United on Oct. 24, conceding a late equaliser after appearing close to securing their first away victory of the season.

The result followed a disappointing 3-2 home defeat to Sporting Lagos, leaving Ogunbote with the task of restoring his side's consistency as the competition intensifies.

Plateau United had demonstrated their attacking potential earlier in October, recording an emphatic 4-0 victory over Kano Pillars at the New Jos Stadium.

That performance highlighted their ability to trouble opponents on home soil, but the subsequent defeat to Sporting Lagos exposed defensive weaknesses they must address before welcoming Warri Wolves.

The hosts will need to combine their attacking ambition with greater concentration, particularly against opponents who have recently proved difficult to break down.

Warri Wolves have recorded consecutive goalless draws against Enyimba and Kano Pillars, following a 3-1 victory over Inter Lagos on Oct. 11.

The sequence suggests the visitors have maintained defensive discipline, although their inability to score in their last two matches will concern their technical crew.

Their latest draw against Kano Pillars also demonstrated their capacity to frustrate opponents, a quality they could rely on in Jos.

However, Warri Wolves must also contend with the consequences of disciplinary sanctions that resulted in a deduction of three points and three goals from their league tally.

The setback has increased the importance of collecting points on the pitch as the club seeks to improve its position in the standings.

Historical encounters provide another reason for Plateau United to approach the contest cautiously.

Warri Wolves secured a 1-0 victory over Plateau United on May 3, 2026, demonstrating their ability to overcome the Jos club in a competitive league encounter. The result could provide the visitors with additional confidence ahead of Sunday's meeting.

For Plateau United, the priority will be to exploit home advantage, improve their defensive organisation and rediscover the attacking sharpness displayed in their victory over Kano Pillars.

Warri Wolves, meanwhile, will seek to maintain their defensive discipline while capitalising on opportunities to punish any lapses from the hosts.

With both sides needing points for different reasons, the contest promises to be a tactical battle between Plateau United's desire to regain winning form and Warri Wolves' determination to build on their recent defensive performances.
