Osun Babes FC midfield maestro, Suliyat Busari, has made it clear that Osun Babes FC are no pushovers when it comes to the game of soccer.
Speaking about her team’s chances against Edo Queens FC in the Round of 16 of the President Federation Cup, Suliyat said that Osun Babes FC have been at this stage before, so there is no need to panic.
“We were at this stage last year when we played against Confluence Queens FC, a contender in the NWFL Premiership Super Six, and we won.
“Playing against Edo Queens FC will not be any different. Yes, we know they are the defending champions of the league and still a force to reckon with—probably the best team in the country—but this is the President Federation Cup.
“We might be playing in the NWFL Championship, but we are not minors or pushovers for any Premiership side. We have a very young and talented squad, and we are ready to take on the world.
“The last time we played against Edo Queens FC was in a league match in 2022 at Ile Ogbo, and it ended in defeat for them. We believe we can do it again this time.
“We are Osun Babes FC, and we are made for this type of match,” Suliyat concluded.
Osun Babes FC will take on Edo Queens FC at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos State on May 3, 2025, at 1:00 p.m.
