2025 President Federation Cup: Nasarawa Amazons breeze past Bayelsa Queens

The Nasarawa Amazons have advanced to the quarterfinals of the 2025 President Federation Cup, defeating Bayelsa Queens 2-1 in a thrilling match at the Awka Township Stadium in Anambra State.


Bayelsa Queens took the lead in the 23rd minute, but the Nasarawa Amazons quickly responded with an equalizing goal from Ojiyovwi Kesiena in the 34th minute, ending the first half 1-1.


The Lafia Landladies dominated the game, showcasing their superiority over Bayelsa Queens.


Bello Amina sealed the win with a header in the second half, beating Linda Jiwaku with a precise nod from an Alanis cross.


The Lafia Landladies have qualified for the NWFL Premiership Super Six, set to take place in Ikenne, and are optimistic about a strong finish in the 2024-2025 Nigerian women's football league season.


The victory showcases the Nasarawa Amazons' determination and skill, solidifying their position as strong contenders in the tournament. With this win, the team is poised to make a deep run in the competition.


Nasarawa Amazons will face Sunshine Queens of Akure in the quarterfinals.
