2025 NLO: 32 Teams Set to Battle for 8 NNL Slots

Excitement is building in Nigeria’s football community as 32 of the best-performing teams in the Nationwide League One (NLO) gear up for a high-stakes showdown, with eight coveted promotion slots to the Nigeria National League (NNL) on the line.

These teams earned their places after emerging as group champions in the recently concluded first phase of the 2025 NLO season.

The promotion playoffs, structured in a round-robin format across eight centres, will determine the clubs advancing to Nigeria’s second-tier football division. Each centre will host four teams, with only the top team from each group securing promotion.

The playoffs will begin after the Ileya Festival, officially kicking off on June 12, 2025, and concluding on June 22, 2025.
