Plateau United Queens kicked off their campaign in the maiden edition of the Northern Amateur Women’s Football Association League with a commanding performance, defeating Jewel Queens of Gombe 3–0 in a thrilling encounter.
Currently underway at the Saint John's College football field in Jos, the match started on a bright note for Plateau United Queens, as Deborah Okorafor capitalized on a defensive blunder by Jewel Queens to tap in the opening goal just four minutes into the game.
The early goal set the tone for what would be a dominant display by the Peace Girls.
Despite several attempts to double their lead, the first half ended 1–0 in favor of Plateau United Queens.
During the halftime break, Plateau United General Manager, Habila Hosea Mutla, delivered a motivating team talk that reignited the girls' determination and fighting spirit.
In the second half, Plateau United Queens returned with renewed energy and purpose.
Their dominance paid off when Juliet Okoloko struck clinically in the 43rd minute to make it 2–0.
Morina Alex added a third in the 61st minute, sealing a comfortable victory for the Queens.
With this emphatic win, Plateau United Queens currently top Group A, which also includes Jewel Queens (Gombe), Zango Queens (Kaduna), Bwaraune Babes (Adamawa), and Jaba Queens.
Plateau United Queens have now sent a strong message to their rivals with this commanding performance.
