Beyond Limits Football Academy began their Gothia Cup 2025 campaign in emphatic fashion on Monday, delivering a crushing 9–0 win over Swedish outfit BK Häcken in their opening group-stage match.
Played under the tournament’s format of two 30-minute halves, the fixture took place at Heden Arena in Gothenburg, Sweden, where the Nigerian side wasted no time asserting their dominance from kickoff.
Imrana Musa set the tone early, finding the back of the net in the 5th minute to open the scoring. Just six minutes later, Oladimeji Muiz doubled the lead, giving Beyond Limits a comfortable 2–0 advantage by the 11th minute.
The onslaught continued in the 20th minute as Merveille Akinocho and Saka Yusuf struck in quick succession, extending the scoreline to 4–0. Akinocho then added his second of the game four minutes later, and Oreoluwa Agbenla wrapped up the first half with a goal in the 28th minute, putting Beyond Limits six goals ahead at halftime.
Resuming their dominance in the second half, Bashir Ghali made it 7–0 just four minutes after the restart. Imrana Musa scored again in the 38th minute, completing his brace, before Oluwatade Oladimeji rounded off the scoring with a 47th-minute strike to seal a comprehensive 9–0 victory.
The result was a clear statement of intent from the Nigerian academy side, who showcased both clinical finishing and defensive discipline in their tournament debut. Their fluid attacking play and solid organization marked them as early favorites to progress deep into the competition.
Beyond Limits will now aim to carry their momentum into the next group-stage fixture as they continue their pursuit of Gothia Cup glory in Sweden.
