2025 Bolowotan Cup: Quarterfinalists Set for Intense Battle

The 2025 Gafaar Bolowotan Memorial Gold Cup has reached a thrilling stage as eight determined teams prepare to battle for semifinal berths. The quarterfinal matches are scheduled to take place at the Police Barracks playground in Igbogbo, Ikorodu, Lagos, promising high-stakes action and passionate football.

Sponsored by former Lagos State Sports Commission Director General, Alhaji Gafaar Oluwatoyin Bolowotan, the tournament has delivered weeks of excitement, showcasing grassroots talent and community engagement. The competition coordinator, Lukman Sonibare, officially released the quarterfinal fixture list, with matches slated for Monday and Tuesday.

Sonibare stressed the importance of discipline and fair play at this crucial phase, warning teams against any conduct that might undermine the integrity of the tournament. “We are now in a crucial stage where we will be strict with our rules and regulations. We want the teams to avoid any social vices that could tarnish the image of this competition,” he said.

Looking ahead to the matchups, Sonibare expressed optimism and wished all teams the best of luck. “I believe all matches will be tough because fans and stakeholders want to see only the best teams in the semifinal. We’ve started well, and by God’s grace, we’ll end well,” he concluded.
