El-Kanemi Warriors FC of Maiduguri have officially resumed training ahead of the 2025/2026 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season, with newly appointed Technical Adviser Kabiru Dogo taking charge of the team.
The club made the announcement via an official memo released on Tuesday, marking the start of a new chapter for the Desert Warriors following the departure of former coach Aliyu Zubairu.
“We are pleased to inform the general public and our supporters that El-Kanemi Warriors FC has officially resumed training ahead of the 2025/2026 NPFL season,” the memo read.
The statement introduced Kabiru Dogo, a seasoned and respected tactician in Nigerian football, as the new head of the technical crew.
“This new chapter begins under the leadership of our newly appointed Technical Adviser, Coach Kabiru Dogo, who brings fresh ideas and renewed energy to the team. His presence, alongside other new faces, is expected to add tremendous value to the club as we prepare for the new season.”
The club confirmed that the entire team, technical crew, invited players, and executives, has resumed intensive pre-season preparations, aiming to build a competitive squad capable of challenging for continental qualification.
“The Warriors are back on the training pitch with full focus and determination. The technical crew, invited players, and club executives are working tirelessly to ensure top-level preparation.”
El-Kanemi Warriors FC, one of Nigeria’s historically prominent clubs, will be hoping to mount a serious campaign in the upcoming season under Dogo’s leadership, with a continental ticket clearly in sight.
