2025/2026 NWFL Matchday 4: FC Robo Queens Crush Dannaz Ladies in Lagos Derby

FC Robo Queens produced a commanding performance as they swept aside Dannaz Ladies 5–1 in a one-sided Lagos derby, concluding Match Day 4 of the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership before the Christmas break.

The visitors set the pace early, taking the lead within six minutes when Kemi Adegbuyi calmly finished off a precise move, immediately putting Dannaz Ladies on the back foot. Three minutes later, Tosin Rafiu doubled the advantage with a clinical strike, leaving the hosts struggling to cope with Robo Queens’ speed and fluid attacking play.

Dannaz Ladies briefly offered a glimmer of hope in the 26th minute when Augusta Chukwuma capitalized on a defensive lapse to score, reducing the deficit to 2–1 and lifting the home crowd’s spirits.

However, any hopes of a comeback were quickly dashed. In the 35th minute, a costly goalkeeping error allowed Opeyemi Ajakaiye to score Robo Queens’ third goal, restoring their two-goal cushion before halftime.

The second half followed the same pattern, with Robo Queens controlling possession and creating chances at will. Ajakaiye added her second goal in the 65th minute, finishing a well-constructed attacking move to make it 4–1 and effectively seal the contest.

The rout was completed five minutes from time when Rodiat Yusuf curled in a superb free kick, capping a dominant display that highlighted the visitors’ attacking depth and quality.

This emphatic win cements FC Robo Queens’ position as one of the standout teams in the NWFL Premiership this season, while Dannaz Ladies face the Christmas break needing to regroup after a challenging derby outing.
