Remo Stars have announced their return to their home ground in Ikenne for the second stanza of the 2025/2026 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season.
The Sky Blue Stars played all their home fixtures away from Ikenne during the first half of the campaign due to ongoing renovation works at the Remo Stars Stadium. However, the club’s chairman, Kunle Soname, confirmed that the facility is now ready to host competitive matches once again.
Speaking on the development, Soname disclosed that the pitch renovation has been fully completed and approved following an inspection. “Renovation of the pitch has been completed and certified, even by the FIFA inspection team. Our first game back will be against Ikorodu City when the second stanza resumes,” Soname told a Punch correspondent.
Remo Stars had adopted the MKO Abiola Sports Arena in Abeokuta as a temporary home venue at the start of the season in August 2025 while upgrades in Ikenne were ongoing. Currently 16th on the NPFL standings with 22 points from 19 matches, the club will be hoping that returning to familiar surroundings provides the boost needed to improve their fortunes in the second half of the season, beginning with the clash against Ikorodu City.
