2025/2026 NPFL Matchday 37: Niger Tornadoes, El-Kanemi Warriors share spoils in Minna

Niger Tornadoes and El-Kanemi Warriors settled for a hard-fought 0-0 draw in their 2025/2026 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Matchday 37 encounter in Minna on Sunday.

The closely fought contest saw both sides create opportunities, but resolute defending and a lack of cutting edge in front of goal denied either team the decisive breakthrough.

El-Kanemi Warriors looked the more dangerous side for large spells of the game, pressing forward in search of maximum points, but the hosts stood firm defensively to ensure the encounter ended in a stalemate.

The draw handed the Maiduguri-based side another valuable point in their campaign as the Desert Warriors moved to 47 points from 37 matches, occupying 13th position on the NPFL table ahead of their final fixture of the season against Enyimba FC.

For Niger Tornadoes, the result further complicated their survival hopes as the Ikon Allah slipped deeper into the relegation zone with 45 points.

The Minna side are now winless in their last five league matches, having recorded 12 wins, nine draws, and 16 defeats this season.

With just one game left before the curtain falls on the campaign, Tornadoes will need a strong finish to boost their chances of escaping relegation.

The stalemate leaves Niger Tornadoes in a precarious position heading into the final day of the season. While El-Kanemi Warriors have secured a relatively stable mid-table spot, the Ikon Allah must now fight for their top-flight survival in their last remaining fixture.
