2025/2026 NNL Super 4: Doma United seek strong finish against Ranchers Bees in Northern derby

Posted : 08 May 2026

Northern rivals Ranchers Bees and Doma United will square off in a pride-filled Matchday 3 encounter of the 2025/2026 Nigeria National League (NNL) Super Four at the Remo Stars Stadium.

Although neither side is realistically in contention for the Super Four title, the clash still promises intensity as both teams aim to close their campaign on a positive note in a battle shaped by regional rivalry and NPFL ambitions.

Ranchers Bees head into the fixture desperate to avoid ending the tournament without a point after suffering back-to-back defeats in their opening two matches.

The Kaduna-based outfit narrowly lost 1-0 to Sporting Lagos before another 1-0 defeat to Inter Lagos left them rooted at the bottom of the standings.

Despite the disappointing results, Ranchers Bees remain one of the North’s respected football institutions with a long-standing reputation for producing young talents. A victory over fellow Northern opponents would provide a morale boost ahead of their return to top-flight football next season.

For Doma United, the campaign has produced mixed fortunes. The Savannah Tigers opened their Super Four journey with a hard-fought 1-0 win over Inter Lagos but were heavily beaten 4-0 by Sporting Lagos in their second outing.

The Gombe-based side currently sit third with three points and will be eager to bounce back strongly after the setback against Sporting Lagos. A win would not only restore confidence but also reinforce the consistency they have shown in recent NNL campaigns.

Doma United have steadily built a reputation as one of the league’s competitive sides in recent seasons and recently added the Gombe State FA Cup title to their growing achievements.

Friday’s meeting is expected to deliver a tense and physical contest, with both clubs carrying the pride of Northern Nigerian football. Even without silverware on the line, local bragging rights and finishing momentum remain enough motivation for both teams.

Kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m., with all Matchday 3 fixtures to be played simultaneously in line with the league’s directive aimed at preserving competitive fairness.

This encounter represents a vital opportunity for both clubs to demonstrate their resilience and tactical discipline before moving into the top flight. While the trophy may be out of reach, the outcome will define the final standings and set the tone for their upcoming professional campaigns.
