2024 President Federation Cup: Nasarawa Amazons set to re-ignite rivalry against Bayelsa Queens

Nasarawa Amazons will rekindle their domestic rivalry against fellow rivals Bayelsa Queens in the President Federation Cup round of 16 clash at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in Enugu, Enugu state.


The only time the premier league teams have met in competitive and non-competitive games in the 2023/2024 season was in the just-concluded NWFL Super Six, and now they are meeting again in the round of 16 of the President Federation Cup. This comes on the heels of the just-concluded NWFL Super Six playoffs in Yenagoa, Bayelsa state.


Coach Christopher Danjuma's tutored side will hope to put up a good fight in tomorrow's game to secure a place in the quarterfinals of the President Federation Cup 2024, the oldest and most glamorous Cup competition in the country.


It's going to be a different ball game as the Lafia Landladies are battle-ready to showcase football artistry and professionalism. They are set to give their opponents a run for their money. For both sides, it is definitely going to be a grudge match.


The Amazons, who played against the Bayelsa Queens in the semifinal stage in Ilorin, Kwara state, under heavy rain, losing one-zero in that encounter in 2021, will hope to banish the demons and make it to the quarterfinals.


A win for the Amazons will serve as sweet revenge for the 2023/2024 NWFL Super Six game loss to the Queens of the Yenagoa-based side and secure passage to the next round of eight of the 2024 President Federation Cup.
