2024 NLO: Chimoski emerges as big winner

Chimoski FC thrashed Sporting FC 4-1 on Match Day 1 of the 2024 Nigeria Nationwide League One season at the Omoku Center in River State to demonstrate both teams' level of supremacy after a 2-0 defeat in the 2023 season.


Sunsel FC also suffered a 2-1 defeat against Ereme Jackson FC of River State in their first meeting.


Sunsel and Sporting FC have dropped to the bottom of the league table, while Jet Bomber, who shared points with Khana FC in a goalless draw, and De Sapele Lions, who also played to a scoreless draw against Wilbros, are keeping their contest afloat in the group table.


Sunday, April 21st, will be a rest day, and playoff contests will resume on Monday, with other clubs trailing Chimoski, who are currently at the top of the league table with a goal difference.


Jet Bombers FC will face a wounded Sporting FC at 8 am, and De Sapele Lions will take on early table leaders Chimoski at 12 noon.


Wilbros FC will tackle second-placed Ereme Jackson at 2 pm, before Sunsel FC battles Apex Krane, whom they defeated in the 2023 season of the NLO1 league, at 4 pm to wrap up the day's fixtures at the Krisdera Hotel Stadium in Omoku.
