2024/2025 NWFL Super Six playoffs: Tournament sweepers, Naija Ratels, remain winless in four matches

It was a tale of two opposing sides as Rivers Angels recorded their first victory in the 2024/25 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership Super Six Playoffs with a 2–0 win over a winless Naija Ratels FC.


Rivers Angels got the much-needed goals courtesy of Titilayo Aweda and Mary Moses to secure the crucial result for the “Jewels of Rivers,” who had gone winless in their previous three playoff fixtures.


Aweda opened the scoring in the 25th minute, capitalizing on a defensive error by Naija Ratels.


The Port Harcourt-based side doubled their lead in the 86th minute through leading scorer Mary Moses, who calmly finished to seal the win.


Both teams came into the match with no realistic chance of claiming the title but were eager to end their Super Six campaign on a high note.


Rivers Angels now have four points heading into their final game against title hopefuls Remo Stars Ladies.


Naija Ratels, still without a point in the playoffs, will conclude their campaign against league leaders Bayelsa Queens on Saturday.
