2024/2025 NWFL Playoffs Match Day 4: Seven-time champions, Rivers Angels, take on winless Naija Ratels

With title hopes out of reach, Rivers Angels and Naija Ratels will meet in a battle for pride as the NWFL Premiership Super Six continues.


Rivers Angels, who qualified for the championship playoffs as runners-up from Group B, have endured a disappointing Super Six campaign, managing just one point from three matches.


Naija Ratels, meanwhile, are yet to register a point, despite pushing their opponents in close contests — except for a 2–0 loss to Edo Queens.


The fixture serves as a rematch of the 2024 President Federation Cup final, in which Rivers Angels narrowly defeated Naija Ratels 1–0 in Lagos to lift the trophy.


The two sides have already met twice in the league this season, with a 1–1 draw in Abuja and a 2–0 victory for Naija Ratels in Port Harcourt.


Despite that recent league win, Naija Ratels are still seeking their first-ever win over Rivers Angels in all competitions.


In five previous meetings, Rivers Angels hold the advantage with four wins and one draw.
