As the Nigeria Women Football League Premiership heats up, Rivers Angels are set for the South-South derby against Delta Queens in Port Harcourt on Match Week 12.
The Jewel of Rivers, who have already secured a Super Six place with three games to spare, are now focused on regaining momentum after their recent stumble in Lagos.
Coach Tosan Blankson remains upbeat despite the disappointing defeat to FC Robo, stating that the squad is ready to return stronger.
“The girls gave it their all in Lagos, even if the goals didn’t come. We’ve accepted the defeat, learned from it, and we’re ready to bounce back on Wednesday,” he said.
With a spot in the Super Six already secured, Blankson insists his players are mentally prepared for the Delta Queens clash.
He revealed that the team has taken lessons from their last outing and is determined to correct those mistakes on home turf.
“We’ve discussed the reasons for our loss in Lagos and established a clear way forward ahead of Wednesday’s match,” Blankson said.
The Rivers Angels boss also issued a passionate call to supporters, urging them to continue backing the team.
Rivers Angels players are training intensely as they prepare for the Super Six qualification battle.
“Don’t be discouraged by our recent loss in Lagos. We’ll make it up to you on Wednesday,” he said.
