2024/2025 NPFL season: Newly crowned champions, Remo Stars, set for colourful coronation, says NPFL boss

Davidson Owumi, the Chief Operating Officer of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), stated that preparations are at an advanced stage to organize an outstanding and colorful trophy presentation ceremony for the recently crowned champions, Remo Stars.


According to Owumi, a joint team from the NPFL and Remo Stars management has been putting the finishing touches on the plan. He also mentioned a slight adjustment to the kickoff time of the Matchday 37 fixture between Remo Stars and Ikorodu City.


The match, originally scheduled to start at 4 p.m., has been moved forward to 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 11, 2025.


Owumi explained that the slight adjustment is intended to ensure the safety of dignitaries and fans traveling from Lagos to Ikenne for the trophy presentation ceremony, which will take place at the end of the match.


"There will obviously be many fans from both clubs traveling from Lagos for this match. Additionally, we will have dignitaries arriving through Lagos, and it will be very ideal for them to travel back in the daylight for safety reasons," Owumi explained.


The match and ceremony will be broadcast live on Startimes and the NPFLLive streaming platform of Propel Sports Africa.
