Bayelsa United FC put up a scintillating performance in the 2024/2025 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Match Day 38 fixture against the newly crowned league champions, Remo Stars FC.
In a match with nothing at stake, the Prosperity Boys ran riot throughout, leaving the league champions clueless on the field of play.
The match, played at the Samson Siasia Sports Stadium, saw Rabiu Abdullahi net a brace, while Yahaya Ibrahim sealed the win with a stoppage-time goal—ensuring Bayelsa United ended their season on a high, finishing 11th on the table with 52 points.
Bayelsa United FC’s coach praised the resilience of his team, adding that they would come back stronger next season.
“I think we started poorly and then picked up later as the game progressed.
We will come back strong next season,” he said.
