2024/2025 NPFL Match Day 36: Ikon Allah Boys set to unleash Godstime on Abia Warriors

Posted : 07 May 2025

As Niger Tornadoes prepare to face Abia Warriors, who are chasing a continental ticket, in the 2024/2025 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Match Day 36, their dynamic attacking midfielder and top scorer, Joseph Godstime, has resumed full training with his teammates after a nagging injury that kept him out of action for a significant part of the 2025 NPFL second round.

Godstime, who has scored 5 goals and provided 4 assists so far this season, said he is back and ready to help his team overcome their current predicament, starting with tomorrow’s game.

In an interview shortly before the team’s walk-out at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna ahead of the 2024/2025 NPFL Match Day 36 clash with Abia Warriors, Godstime said the club had performed well in the first half of the league due to their away wins, which were a result of the players’ consistent unity, zeal, and determination to succeed.

He added that the second round was characterized by injuries to key players, including himself, as well as Victor Okoro and Ifeanyi Okechukwu, which made it a little difficult for the team to secure positive results.

Godstime expressed his readiness to help the team overcome their current challenges, starting with the upcoming match against Abia Warriors.

“Thank God, I’m back with the team, filled with the zeal and grace of God to make it happen. We have just three games left, and I believe in myself and my teammates, and what we are capable of doing to ensure the team avoids relegation.”

Regarding the Abia Warriors match, he said, "I know I won’t be able to do it alone without the help of my teammates, but I strongly believe and have hope that we are going to win the match."

The Ikon Allah Boys also welcome back Ifeanyi Okechukwu and Victor Okoro after long layoffs and are battle-ready for tomorrow’s game.
