Continental ticket-chasing Ikorodu City FC is now set to have a full complement of players for the match against Bayelsa United FC in the 2024/2025 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Match Day 36 fixtures.
The match, billed for the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, will see Ikorodu City FC assert their authority as a real contender for the continental ticket.
The Oga Boys have yet to lose any home game in the past six matches, so it will be a tough challenge for Ladan Bosso's side in Lagos.
However, the Prosperity Boys have yet to lose any match in their last five engagements, with three wins and two draws.
Ladan Bosso has managed to guide the once relegation-bound team to 9th position on the NPFL log.
In other news, NPFL management has overturned the red card shown to Kelechi Onwe on Matchday 35 of the Nigeria Premier Football League.
The overturned red card means the player will now be available for selection.
The NPFL statement reads, "The official report of the referee indicates the following disciplinary measures taken against the under-listed player of your team.
However, following your appeal and subsequent review of the incident, the following decision was reached: Kelechi Onwe; Red Card MD35 overturned and stepped down to a yellow card. Player now available for selection."
Kelechi was shown a straight red card in the 80th minute against Akwa United in Uyo, which meant the midfielder would miss the next three consecutive games and, in essence, would not be available for league action until the end of the season, as only three games remain.
However, following a successful appeal by the club, Kelechi will be available for the next game against Bayelsa United.
It will be the second meeting between both teams, with the first ending in a victory for Bayelsa United FC.
