2024/2025 NPFL Match Day 34: Sunshine Stars ready for relentless Rivers United FC

Remo Stars International will once again welcome the league title-chasing Rivers United FC, but this time against another southwest club, Sunshine Stars, who have adopted the stadium as their home.


The 2024/2025 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Match Day 34 will be a hot contest between the Pride of Rivers and the Owena Whales.


Recall that the last visit of Rivers United to Ikenne in a match against the table toppers, Remo Stars, ended in defeat.


Notwithstanding, Match Day 34 will be a massive game for both teams, but for very different reasons, as Rivers United FC have remained resilient in their quest for the league crown, hoping to catch up with the league leaders, Remo Stars.


Rivers United are still nursing an outside chance of laying their hands on the league title after 38 battles, as they securely sit second, seven points behind leaders Remo Stars. A win here keeps them within reach — and their eyes will surely be on what happens in Ibadan.


Sunshine Stars, on the other hand, are in deep trouble. They are 19th with just 38 points from 33 matches. It’s now or never if they want to avoid relegation.


Coach Finidi George knows what's at stake, and this test against Sunshine will show how serious they are about going all the way.
