2024/2025 NPFL Match Day 34: Niger Tornadoes set to unleash Super Eagles star on Katsina United

As the 2024/2025 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season nears its completion, clubs are now stepping up to ensure they earn a respectable and decent finish on the log.


In this regard, Niger Tornadoes FC have announced a strong squad to face Katsina United for the 2024/2025 NPFL Match Day 34 fixture in an all-northern club rivalry.


Ahead of the crucial encounter, the Ikon Allah Boys have welcomed the trio of Papa Daniel, Ahmed Family, and Sabiu Ibrahim into the squad for this weekend’s game.


Super Eagles midfielder Papa has recovered from an illness and rejoined his teammates for the clash. Ahmed has also shaken off an injury he sustained in Lagos, while Sabiu has returned from the U-20 camp to add depth to the team as they prepare to tackle Coach Ladan Bosso's Bayelsa United on Sunday.


This game marks a crucial test for Niger Tornadoes, who suffered their heaviest defeat of the current campaign to Bayelsa United in Yenagoa when they lost 4-1 in the first stanza of the league.


With the season gradually winding down, the technical crew has dubbed the match a must-win as the team aims to steer clear of the relegation zone.


While the likes of Victor Okoro and Ifeanyi Okechukwu are in a race to be fit before the next game, Mohammed Hussaini will miss this weekend’s tie due to card accumulation.


Niger Tornadoes are currently 12th with 43 points on the log, while Bayelsa United are just two points ahead.


A win for Tornadoes would not only be vital but could also potentially swap the positions of the two teams going into the next fixtures, giving Tornadoes a slight advantage.
