Plateau United FC have officially parted ways with midfielder Sunday Anthony following the expiration of his contract with the club at the end of the 2024/2025 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season.
The club, in a statement, confirmed that the versatile and experienced midfielder will no longer be part of the "Peace Boys" squad going forward.
Anthony, formerly of El-Kanemi Warriors, had a solid stint with Plateau United, bringing flair and balance to the midfield with his trademark left-footed creativity. However, with his contract now expired, he is free to explore new opportunities.
Although he has not made an official announcement regarding his future, several NPFL clubs are reportedly monitoring his situation, with interest in acquiring the seasoned campaigner already picking up.
Plateau United concluded the 2024/2025 NPFL season in 7th position, finishing with 54 points from 38 matches (16 wins, 9 draws, and 13 losses).
As the off-season begins, all eyes will be on Sunday Anthony’s next destination, with speculation swirling around where the midfield maestro could land next.
