2023 NWFL: Heartland Queens FC wraps up preseason tour in Enugu

Heartland Queens Football Club of Owerri wrapped up their preseason tour with a narrow 1-0 victory in Enugu against Greenfoot Ladies at Liberty Stadium, their home turf, on Wednesday.

Faith Samson's lone header in the second half, assisted by Emmanuella James, was all that was needed to separate the two sides.

The Owerri Landladies displayed class and precision with a beautiful exhibition of skills and a series of passes during the match.

The host team, Greenfoot Ladies, also maintained a solid defense, having mastered the pitch and capitalizing on their home advantage.

Heartland Queens began their pre-season tour two months ago after winning the Southeast Women's Football Tournament. They then moved to Bayelsa to face Bayelsa Queens, returned to Benin to battle Edo Queens, and traveled to Port Harcourt to play against Rivers Angels. Afterward, they went to Benin for the Betsy Obaseki Football Tournament and finally to Enugu to face Greenfoot Ladies.

Heartland Queens will kick off their NWFL campaign on Thursday, November 16th, against Royal Queens of Warri and will then travel to Lafia to face Nasarawa Amazons.
