2023/2024 NWFL Match Day 10: Nasarawa Amazons FC travels to Owerri for big clash against Heartland FC

Nasarawa Amazons Football Club of Lafia will be facing off against Heartland Queens of Owerri in the Match Day 10 fixture of the Nigeria Women's Premier League on Wednesday in Owerri.


The ladies from Lafia are coming off a 5-0 home win against Naija Ratels in Match Day 9 of the NWFL24 and arrived in the eastern city of Owerri on Monday.


The Amazons have recorded two straight wins at home at the beginning of the second round, one against visiting Royal Queens 4-0 and the second against Naija Ratels 5-0. After that, the NWFL24 was postponed for 3 weeks due to six Nasarawa Amazons players currently representing Nigeria in the All African Games taking place in Ghana. The Nasarawa Amazons are undoubtedly in need of and are confident of earning maximum points in the game after a 1-0 win at home against Heartland Queens in Lafia.


The clash between these two top teams is one to watch, as both teams have met once before and the Queens will not want to lose this time. However, the Amazons, who are hungry for victory in this clash, are better prepared than the host team Heartland Queens.


The one-time NWFL champions will play with ease but fight hard to earn victory in the encounter on Wednesday, March 20th, 2024, at the Dan Ayiam Stadium in Owerri.


Despite the absence of Head Coach Christopher Danjuma Musa, who is on national assignment with the U-20 national team in Accra, Ghana, for the All African Games, the side is confident of victory as they take on Heartland Queens tomorrow and are coming out with all their weapons hoping to achieve the best result in the encounter in Owerri.


The ladies from Lafia, currently occupying the top position with 17 points, know that a win in Owerri will keep them on top of the Group A table.
