Sunshine Stars striker Lucky Chinecherem Nwafor has advised the club's numerous supporters not to judge them based on their position in the first stanza of the NPFL. He assured fans that the team is determined to bounce back and compete strongly in the second stanza of the season.

Lucky further urged supporters not to harbor any fears, expressing confidence that Sunshine Stars will secure a commendable position in the league by the end of the season. Despite finishing the first stanza in the 13th position with 22 points, the 19-year-old player emphasized the players' determination to alter the course of the season in the upcoming second stanza.

"We, as players of the club, are very determined to change the narratives, and this will come into play in the second stanza of the league. There is nothing to worry about; Sunshine Stars will be among the contenders at the end of the day," he stated.

Born in Nasarawa state but hailing from Enugu state, Lucky Nwafor joined the Owena team from EFCC of Abuja at the beginning of the 2023/2024 NPFL season and is currently playing for Sunshine Stars of Akure. The striker made the move after an impressive record of scoring 8 goals for EFCC in 7 matches.
