2023/2024 NPFL Match Day 19: Kwara United FC down Sunshine Stars in Ilorin

Kwara United FC defeated visiting Sunshine Stars FC of Akure 1-0 on Saturday in the 2023/2024 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Match Day 19, a match played at the Ilorin Township Stadium.


Emmanuel Ogbole's 15th-minute goal secured the maximum points for Kwara United against Sunshine Stars of Akure.


The victory over the Akure Gunners brought the Afonja Warriors back to winning ways after displaying caution but great determination throughout most of the game, following the home loss to Lobi Stars in the 2023/2024 NPFL Match Day 17.


The Kabiru Dogo-tutored team dominated the game and secured an early goal through Emmanuel Ogbole, while Shola AbdulRaheem won the Man of the Match (MOTM) award.


Coach Dogo commended his players and expressed gratitude to the fans, supporters, and stakeholders for their patience. He praised Afeez Nosiru for his contributions, describing him as an experienced and committed player.


On his part, Sunshine Stars FC Coach Agoye praised his boys but attributed the lack of awarded penalties to officiating.
