Right from the start of the season, Sporting Lagos FC have declared intentions to win the 2023/2024 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), as the Chairman of the club, Godwin Enakhena, stated that the Tech Boys intended to set a record in the league.
However, the Tech Boys have been on an unrealistic mission, experiencing a dip in form followed by unimpressive records both at home and away, dropping points in Lagos.
Sporting Lagos has only managed one win in their last five NPFL matches. As a result of their recent poor performances, the Lagos outfit dropped to the 14th position with 12 points after 10 games.
However, the Tech Boys will set their eyes on maximum points when Katsina United come to town on Sunday for the Match Day 11 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) fixtures.
The game slated for Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos will witness fireworks with the duo of Junior Lokosa and Jonathan Alukwo pulling the strings for the home side.
Katsina United FC has also experienced some not-too-good outings, putting coach Tony Bolus on the hot seat, with his job now determined by getting good results.
Katsina United is in similar form, having drawn twice and lost twice in their last five NPFL matches.
The Changi Boys are obviously one of the struggling teams in Nigeria, and their 12th place on the NPFL table with 13 points reflects just about everything.
Head to head: This is the first meeting.
Prediction: Sporting Lagos FC to win the contest.
