2023/2024 CAF Confederation Cup: We are no underdogs, says Rivers United FC's Nwagua

Nyima Nwagua, the captain of Nigeria's representative at the 2023/2024 CAF Confederation Cup, Rivers United, declared that the team is not an underdog in the prestigious African competition. He added that the team has what it takes to win the CAF Confederation Cup.


The Pride of Rivers advanced to the quarter-final of the competition on Sunday after their 2-1 win over Dream FC of Ghana.


Nyima stated that the team had worked hard to reach the knockout stage.


"We have worked hard to get to this point; we will not look down on ourselves. We have everything to win the cup," he said.


The draw for the quarter-final is slated for March 12th, and Rivers' opponent could likely be one of Zamalek (Egypt), USM Algiers (Algeria), or RS Berkane (Morocco).
