VALORANT and MLBB Lead the Rise of Women’s Esports

Women’s esports is continuing to grow, with several major titles developing competitive ecosystems designed to give female players greater opportunities. Among the leading games, VALORANT and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) have emerged as two of the strongest forces in the scene.

VALORANT has established one of the most structured pathways for women through Riot Games’ Game Changers programme. Regional competitions across different parts of the world give teams regular opportunities to compete before the leading players advance toward international events.

Meanwhile, Counter-Strike has a long history in women's esports through competitions such as ESL Impact. Although the dedicated circuit has faced challenges, Counter-Strike remains an important part of the history and development of female competitive gaming.

The growth of these games reflects a wider change in esports. Publishers are increasingly investing in dedicated tournaments, regional circuits and pathways that allow women to compete regularly and develop professional careers.
