Team Vitality Triumphs Over The MongolZ to Win BLAST.tv Austin Major in Thrilling Final

After three intense weeks of world-class Counter-Strike 2 action, French esports powerhouse Team Vitality emerged victorious at the BLAST.tv Austin Major, defeating Mongolian contenders The MongolZ in a thrilling final showdown. Held at the Moody Center in Austin, Texas, the 22nd Major in Counter-Strike history delivered drama, comebacks, and world-class gameplay in front of a capacity crowd.

 

The final began on Mirage, Team Vitality’s map pick, where The MongolZ shocked the audience with a commanding 13-5 win, taking full advantage of a strong second-half performance. Undeterred, Vitality answered with a dominant showing on Dust II, jumping to an early 6-0 lead and ultimately closing out the map 13-4. With both teams tied at one map apiece, the title came down to a decisive third map on Inferno.

 

Inferno began with The MongolZ gaining momentum by securing the pistol round, but Vitality quickly took control. Led by standout performances from Mathieu ‘ZywOo’ Herbaut and team captain Dan ‘apEX’ Madesclaire, Vitality surged ahead to a 9-3 lead at halftime.

 

Although The MongolZ mounted a late push, including a clutch play from Sodbayar ‘Techno4K’ Munkhbold, Vitality proved too strong, sealing the win with a 13-6 scoreline and clinching the series 2-1.

 

The victory not only handed Team Vitality the Austin Major title but also solidified their standing as the top CS2 team in the world. The French squad has now matched historic Major records and continues to build an impressive legacy with a sixth consecutive trophy. With events like FISSURE Playground and IEM Cologne on the horizon, all eyes remain on Vitality to see if their remarkable run can continue.
