Team Spirit and Team Vitality Advance to Semi-Finals at 2025 StarLadder Budapest Major

Team Spirit and Team Vitality have booked their spots in the semi-finals of the 2025 StarLadder Budapest Major after impressive 2-0 victories on the opening day of the playoffs at Hungary’s MVM Dome. Team Spirit overcame Team Falcons, while Team Vitality swept past The MongolZ.

After advancing comfortably from Stage 3, Team Spirit continued its strong form against Team Falcons. On their pick of Nuke, Ivan ‘zweih’ Gogin led the scoreboard, delivering crucial headshots and an ace that stifled the Falcons’ offense. A dominant second half, including five consecutive attacking rounds, secured a 13-4 win in the first map.

Team Falcons showed resilience on Dust II, building an early lead, but Team Spirit’s defense and another ace from zweih forced overtime and completed a 16-12 comeback, sealing the 2-0 series sweep. Team Falcons exit Budapest with a top-eight finish.

Team Vitality also demonstrated dominance against The MongolZ, even with the opposition using a temporary stand-in. On Mirage, William ‘Mezii’ Merriman and Mathieu ‘ZywOo’ Herbaut led the charge, with ZywOo’s quick reactions helping the team secure five straight attacking rounds to win 13-5.

The momentum carried into Dust II, where Vitality built an 8-4 halftime lead and closed out another 13-5 win. Despite the losses, The MongolZ showed competitive promise and will finish the season in the top eight, with opportunities to reevaluate their roster ahead of 2026.

With these victories, Team Spirit and Team Vitality are set to clash in the first semi-final on December 13th. Attention now shifts to the remaining quarter-finals, with MOUZ facing FaZe Clan and NAVI taking on FURIA to determine the other semi-finalists.
